Jill Day, Chair
Jill taught English in Bristol and Malawi, and SEN in Surrey before joining the Surrey advisory service in 1989. In 1994 she became senior ICT consultant for Surrey LEA, with responsibility for the Curriculum ICT team alongside a senior management role for Corporate Liaison. In 1996 she had a spell as attached inspector for a number of PRUs and special schools before returning to ICT. Jill also represented Surrey on the steering group of the South East Grid for Learning In 2002 Jill was seconded to project manage the forthcoming LEA Ofsted preparations. Following that, she became Head of Policy and Planning for Children and Young People, with responsibility for the development of the Children and Young People�s Plan in Surrey. In October 2006, Jill retired from her position in Surrey and now undertakes a variety of consultative work. Jill joined the NAACE executive committee in 2000 and became Chair of the Executive in 2003. She joined the Naace Board of Management in 2005 and is currently Chair of the Board.
