Don Ross
I have been involved in ICT for many years after being spotted as interested in microcomputers in my second post as a Physics teacher. I worked my way up to ICT coordinator in a large 11-18 comprehensive school in Nottinghamshire. All pupils studied ICT to GCSE level and we introduced a successful A level Computing course. During that time I was seconded twice to the LEA. Firstly as a member of the IT in Schools project which involved working with both primary and secondary schools to increase the use of ICT in all areas of the curriculum. The second spell was working to promote the use of ICT solutions in administration. For the last 3 years I have worked full time for Nottinghamshire LEA as a Teaching and Learning Consultant as part of the National Strategy for ICT. I have always felt that ICT has huge potential to improve the quality of teaching in schools.
