Advancing Education - Autumn Term 2009

The latest issue of Advancing Education is now available to members. In this edition our contributors explore the many aspects of communication, from the power of blogging and tweeting to influence politics to collaboration via handheld consoles, engaging parents and games creation. Other articles consider CPD in a changing world and safeguarding issues.

BSF and Innovation - friends or enemies?

On 4 December 2009, a Naace think tank will be taking place. The theme is "Safeguarding ICT innovation under BSF Managed Service Contracts". As part of the build up to this event, we invite members to share their ideas, experiences and reflections. In the Naace CPD area you will find a Moodle with the same title as the think tank. It contains six questions, and we hope you will respond to any or all of them online.

Naace Think Tank and Position Paper on ICT Dimensions of BSF

Find out what happened at the lively event in Coventry on 18th July. And now in the Consultations area you can read or download the Naace position paper which was developed after the Think Tank.

Ideas for Gifted and Talented Students

The latest wiki item in the Naace Knowledge area summarises ideas submitted by Naace members  for an SSAT resource which will support secondary schools in their provision for gifted and talented students.

e-skills Consultation - Naace response

e-skills UK is a critically influential body and has been consulting on its strategic plan for England. Their strategic objectives include: "Inspire greater numbers of talented men and women to enter the sector by improving understanding of the diverse range of IT and Telecoms careers" and "Ensure technology-related education in schools, colleges and universities supports the future needs of the UK in the global economy". Naace's response has been sent to e-skills and can be read in the Consultations section of the website.
