Naace Think Tank and Position Paper on ICT Dimensions of BSF

Find out what happened at the lively event in Coventry on 18th July. In the Naace CPD area you can see the presentations from some of the leaders in the field and follow and join in the ensuing discussions. And now in the Consultations area you can read or download the Naace position paper which was developed after the Think Tank.

All Member's Autumn Conference: 4 October 2008

This year's conference will be held on the 4th October at the Coventry Techno Centre. The aim of the day is to develop delegates understanding of how ICT can be used to extend opportunities for learning.

We are delighted to advise that our keynote speakers will be Ruth Hammond of Becta, Fiona Aubrey-Smith of Uniservity and Mick Waters, Director of Curriculum at QCA. In addition the day will include an exhibition for delegates, two sets of parallel workshops on gaming, real time reporting, handheld technologies and assessing pupil progress and a very lively lunch.The Naace AGM will follow this conference and there will be prize draw to close.

Changes to GCSE ICT

QCA has published proposed assessment criteria and regulations for controlled assessment for the revised GCSE in ICT, for first teaching in 2010. Naace has many members with rich experience of GCSE and assessment, and you can contribute to Naace's response to QCA by visiting the wiki in Naace Knowledge and adding your comments to the questions there.

e-skills Consultation - Naace response

e-skills UK is a critically influential body and has been consulting on its strategic plan for England. Their strategic objectives include: "Inspire greater numbers of talented men and women to enter the sector by improving understanding of the diverse range of IT and Telecoms careers" and "Ensure technology-related education in schools, colleges and universities supports the future needs of the UK in the global economy". Naace's response has been sent to e-skills and can be read in the Consultations section of the website.

Illuminating Professional Development!

Naace is delighted to announce that the Annual Strategic Conference will be held in Blackpool from midday 3rd March to midday 5th March 2009 at the Blackpool Hilton. There will be a dedicated Exhibition, a Members night, traditional Gala Dinner, eminent speakers, excellent CPD events and invaluable networking opportunities. Save the date now!
